Sat 6th Aug 2011 10.30-4pm Basketry
Learn basics of safe tool use, selecting appropriate basketry material from the hedgerow, making hoops in 2 different ways , binding hoops together, and building the ribbed framework.
Starting the weave. Packing technique. ( willow will be available for you to take home to continue weaving )
Tues 16th Aug 4-6pm Basketry
Continuing the weave.
Tues 23rd 4-6pm Basketry and Plant Supports
Continuing the weave, finishing the basket. Making simple small wigwam shaped plant supports.
Sat Oct 15th 10.30-4pm Hedgerow Fences
Coppicing hedgerows for material to weave willow and hazel fences and screens.

Chagfood has secured funding to run Weaving from the Hedgerow so all events are free with a donation to Chagfood to secure your place (suggested donation £5 - £50). However, spaces for the course are limited and booking is essential for all days.
Places limited to 10 per course, bookings taken on first come basis. Please bring lunch to share for full day events. Tea, coffee will be provided.
If you would like to make a basket you must come for the 6th Aug day. Other than that you may pick and chose all, or any of the events. .

Weaving from the Hedgerow will suit 12yrs upwards but if you would like to have some of your family help you make your basket\fence etc you are welcome at your own discretion and responsibility.
